Last pic from the Anderson Holiday Fair. I LOVE this lady’s jewelry — and predictably I can’ t find her card. *UGH*

I love drama done well — and Pat of Bird Mountain Creations knows how to create a beautiful, bold statement. I wish I had better pics to show — but this reveals just a bit of her original designs. Love the color. Check out her web site for necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

Two Interpreters of Stone and Metal

These ladies were really sweet and fun. They found themselves next to each other at the Anderson Holiday Fair and hit it off. They both make jewelry — very very nice stuff. The differences in their personalities come out in the stones and metal — as does their talent.

I love blue. I love cute animals. I love cool crafty stuff. So, you can imagine my delight when I spied this bag at the Junior League’s Anderson Holiday Fair. (Notice the red patterned lining? It makes me want to set up my packed-away sewing machine — RIGHT NOW!) Using left over bird seed bags, the designer Shane Sisi (who introduced me to the word “up-cycle” 🙂 ) creates the most adorable hand bags of many sizes. Must order one. Now.

1st Vendor on the Right

Dawn was the first vendor I encountered when entering the Anderson Holiday Fair. I was immediately taken in by her clean designs — and cute ideas. In sparkly crystal! So cool. Unfortunately, I did not get a good photo of her apparel or flip flops ( which are adorable) — so I hope you will visit her web site here to see what this talented chick can do. T.L. Hanna High School fans will be charmed I’m sure with this crystal yellow jacket. (Westside High School fans, no doubt a ram is on her to-do list. 🙂 )

Favorite Pair

Madeline and Rebecca, young earring designers, shared a booth at the Anderson Holiday Fair, held on Tuesday night at Hospice for the Upstate. I asked Rebecca her favorite pair, and she pointed out the blue with the red center. I can’t help but agree. 🙂 A pic of the girls at their booth is here.

The First Annual Anderson Holiday Fair was sponsored by the Anderson Junior League to benefit Hospice of the Upstate and Anderson Interfaith Ministries. I was completely blown away by the quality of the vendors and the fun, lively atmosphere. I wish I had taken more pictures — and more of all the vendors. I hope to show a few here over the next couple of days.

Just Over

This balloon flew right over our heads. I wonder what that long line hanging off the balloon measures. It doesn’t appear you can sit down in the basket, does it? Probably too exciting to do so, even if you could. 🙂

Going Down

This balloon landed — in someone’s backyard! — not far from the balloon below. Curious neighbors spilled out of houses and traveling voyeurs (like me 🙂 ) parked and jumped from cars to watch the brightly colored vehicle deflate.

Balloons All Up in Anderson

Balloons Over Anderson was held last weekend — and how wonderful it was to see the colorful globes in flight on Friday, Saturday, and even Sunday morning. At dusk on Saturday, driving to Greenville with a friend, I found myself among a group of balloon “chasers” as we followed the baskets as they dipped below the skyline to land. Very very cool.

For the Furry Friends

This past Saturday Chris Taylor Park hosted the Dog Gone Art Festival, sponsored by various charities, including the Anderson Humane Society and Diamond in the Ruff, Inc. The festival sported crafts, information booths, and my favorite — a Halloween costume contest — all centered around furry creatures. The weather was cool and breezy, and the people and pups were friendly. Mina, my little feist-mix, sniffed as many hinneys as she could.
