Trailer Nails Xtra

I took tons of photos — it was so difficult to capture these fun images. Spotlights shine on the polished floor, causing glares with the flash.

I tried to take as many pics as possible without the flash. What do you see in this picture? I just noticed the flaming car.

This — in honor of Halloween — I call Skeletor. 🙂

This hangs on the wall near the stairs. John Acorn must be an extremely patient and creative man. Love his work of art — that I can actually feel with my feet. Imagine how thrilled I was to learn that he lives in Pendleton, Anderson County, South Carolina! I just assumed he was … oh, I don’t know, from California, or some such. I’m humbled that someone so inventive lives so near. And yet, isn’t that what an arts center is all about?

After Googling John Acorn, I can’t help but think the above sign leaves important details out — like the fact Mr. Acorn conceptualized this public sculpture, that he commissioned drawings from Anderson County school children, that he blew the drawings up and traced them on the stairs. Very cool. I also learned he is a sculptor who taught at Clemson University for 36 years. His work is featured in museums and collections throughout the Southeast — including, of course, the Anderson County Arts Center. I’m quite proud. And feel lucky to live here.
