The Places

Filed under: Spring & Summer — lessie @ 6:37 am

Sometimes the locale is more significant than the “goods,” when yardsaling. I swear the above front yard reached out and grabbed me two Saturdays ago. All the neighbors on the street had laid out their wares on their white driveways, and all I could do was stare at this yard. Just beautiful and lush and meadowyishious. I had to laugh later though. Because so many folks were milling about, selling and trading, it was hard to find a parking spot on the street. The ladies who pulled up behind us, took one look at this gorgeous yard and assumed the home was abandoned (instead of lovingly tended) and they could park in the driveway. “Uh, yes…there’s someone living there,” I stammered, realizing too late they misunderstood the message of the garden. It was grabbing me — and it was scaring them! 🙂 (A pic of the side yard is here.)
