This Saturday on a walk downtown Angie and I stumbled upon this cool door plate. I have to admit, I am charmed by not only the detail on the plate and knob, but also the faded coloring and the worn look of the key hole. The hole almost looks like it’s on its side, doesn’t it?

Before we saw the knob and plate — we saw their door. It appears to be wider than the standard door, with a tall tall transom. It’s quite an impressive entrance. I found myself wondering what used to be sold inside. S. Main across from the municipal building.

  1. Like you, I love old doors and handles, Lessie. this is fabulous. Love the handle and the ironwork support and that lovely old peeling paint.

  3. How romantic! It reminds me of a stroll through Savannah, or Charleston. Tiny details like that capure my imagination. You’ve posted some amazing photos in the last few days!
