What is it with pink?

Filed under: Winter & Christmas — lessie @ 10:25 pm

For this Friday, leaving you with a self-indulgent (as Simon Cowell would say 🙂 ) photograph. My niece. Beautiful, isn’t she? A strong-willed but sweet girl, who loves pink. She enjoys being anywhere her older brother is — and he loves being outside, smart boy. He climbs a tree. So does she. She’s two and a half going on 25.

  1. A most beautiful child. You captured her to perfection. Bless her.

  2. She’s a doll…what lovely eyes! Most of my life, pink (as well as green) was at the top of my list of favorite colors. Now, I’d be hard pressed to choose only one favorite, I love ALL colors! When I tried to think about what it is that attracted me to pink, I came up blank. The only reason I can come up with is that “I just like it”, so I quickly looked up some properties of the color pink…

    Keywords: Nurturing, Kindness, Love

Color Energy Properties & Associations: Love, Infatuation, Relaxation, Relieve Tension, Motherhood, Awareness of Life Purpose, Charm and Personal Magnetism, Life Path, Attracting, Increase Speed, Self-Realization, Unconditional Love of Self and Others, Alleviate Jealousy, Grief, Sadness, Youthfulness, Awareness of Deepest Feelings, Tenderness, Nurturing, Caring, Friendship, Feminine Energy, Receptive, Yin

I can see myself in some of these. Do any of these keywords/associations relate to your niece? One caution that was mentioned was that excessive pink may incline toward excessive passivity. I don’t think I believe THAT. Consider Elle Woods…lol…I would NOT consider her passive. Fictional, I know but so what.

    smiles, Angie

  3. A beautiful portrait. She’ll thankyou for this one day. I love her expression. She looks a bundle of energy and intelligence.

  4. I think the caked dirt under the pink polished fingernails pretty much sums it up!

  5. Note to readers of comments: Camille is my sister. I’m sure she’s delighted by the dirt under Lydia’s nails. Lydia lets nothing stop her — esp. not any dirt!
