November Theme Day: Books

The first of every month the City Daily Photo community shares a theme, and this month it is books! I’m not sure the meaning of the book and shawl on the tombstone above, found in Silverbrook Cemetery, but it’s intriguing. And a slightly different twist on the theme, I hope.

Enjoy visiting the other city daily photo sites on this theme day!

  1. A different theme indeed and such a beautiful one. I imagine a person who loved books is buried here.

  5. Unique choice — I love it!

Somehow, the cloth and book make me think he was a minister. The cloth can be an altar cloth and the book — too thin to be a bible — might be a missal. But who knows, really? 😉

  6. Very creative idea, Lessie. I’m not sure about the shawl, but perhaps the book is symbolic of the Lamb’s Book of Life.

  7. Headstone symbols are fascinating. Drapes usually symbolize mourning or mortality. The book is probably the Holy Bible.

Great picture and very creative for today’s theme. Happy Theme Day!

  9. I remember a bookstore in Anderson years ago. This person may have been a family member.

  11. I really like your take on the theme. I love cemetaries and am always taking unusual pics there–if I can find some. MB
