I love Fall weather (when I’m not worrying about coming heat bills). I took the dogs out last night for a walk, and the air was refreshing. I stopped in front of the house with Cathey to chat, and relaxed my grip on the leashes. Maggie seized the opportunity to leap out of my grasp and chase a very pretty white cat. As I watched the cat run for its life, legs stretching far out in front and behind her, I found myself praying aloud, don’t catch her, don’t catch her, don’t catch her. And Maggie didn’t. But I was shaken nonetheless. The entire moment an overall grey, like this photo — taken a couple of Saturdays ago. The birds lifted off after I snapped the pic, flew in a circle, and settled back on the lines.
