“It’s PINK!” My niece said after examining the Hooked on the Arts fish sculpture. She is currently obsessed with said color and will not use any other crayon, even “fuschia.” Must be the traditional pink.

Today opens the 2008 Great Southeast Balloon Fest. There will be over 80 balloons and a championship sponsored by the Balloon Federation of America.

Tonight is also the annual Midnight Flight. Races begin and end at Anderson YMCA, with the 1 mile starting at 9:15 p.m., 5k at 10:00 p.m., and 10K at 11:00 p.m.

Westside plays Hanna at home tonight, beginning at 7:30 p.m. City-wide rivals — so it should be a fun time to see neighbors and friends.

  2. Very colorful fish, and I don’t blame her for a partiality to pink! Selma will soon have its butterfly sculptures up downtown. I can’t wait to see them all.

  3. Hi Lessie,
To answer your question about the choice of a butterfly, Selma is the Butterfly Capital of Alabama!
