Movement in clay

Kate Krause is an Anderson potter whose work can be found at various venues including Bay 3, an art store at the Anderson County Arts Center Warehouse. After reading Krause’s page at Kakilaki, I began to appreciate her work even more, looking for movement — an element which fascinates me in her pieces.

In the above work, I like the woman’s knee and foot, and the bowl held out to the chicks. Her expression seems natural and relaxed. Another fun piece is shown here.
