I’ve heard from at least one Andersonian that a labyrinth of tunnels run under downtown. No idea if it’s true or not. The closest I’ve seen is the sole rail road tunnel crossing under Main Street. You can see it looking over the bridge on Main Street (if you can locate the bridge on Main — it’s barely perceptible), and you can glimpse it from the alley behind Main Street — as shown above. I was walking to a parking lot, curiously leaned over a railing and was shocked to see a “subterranean” world. A wider picture is here.
