Thorns redeemed

Filed under: Spring & Summer — lessie @ 12:01 pm

Unkempt bank. Weeds, tall grasses. Long thorny branches, overlapping to form a seemingly impenetrable briar patch. And then I noticed the white flowers. They were everywhere. Blackberries! I no longer saw the thorns — but the flowers. And imagined the tart fruit.

  1. Blackberries are habit-forming! Can’t beat a blackberry cobbler this time of year.

  2. Nice photography. Nice thoughts in words. I just planted two blackberry bushes and they are supposed to be thornless. I hope so or if not the birds and bugs and bees will get them.

  3. What a perfect little picture and story. How wonderful to find some berries in the weeds!
