Blanket of white

Filed under: Spring & Summer — lessie @ 1:44 pm

I’m in awe of the blanket of Dogwood blossoms covering Old North Anderson. Gorgeous seems suddenly a puny word. Dogwoods have always meant “white” to me, but this spring I’m noticing the pink ones. Stalking them last night, I recognized the various shades, from pink pink, to a dark, almost fuschia pink. I didn’t realize it last night, but this morning after reviewing the pictures, it appears the pink blooms are smaller than the white. I wonder if this is a difference in variety, or maybe just the trees I ran across.

  1. All our dogwoods are in bloom too, pink and white! Love the delicate lacey look of them!
