Temptation: wet cement

Filed under: Downtown — lessie @ 2:56 am

Yes, writing in cement is old hat, but…I’ve never seen it dated over 50 years ago. Much more interesting than shoe prints or “Matt loves Polly.” I wonder where Hubert Wentlky is today. His imprint is found off Whitner Street, downtown.

  1. Great photo! Its amazing that has lasted more then 50 years!

  2. I believe that is a “z” not an “l” in Hubert’s last name. If so maybe this is one and same. Wentzky, Hubert Rudolph Sr. b. Jan 25, 1936 d. Oct 22, 1998. Hubert Jr is still around and would probably love to see the work.

  3. Jana — I agree. Makes it fun. 🙂

Bill — You are exactly right! Now that you say that, I can see the “Z.” Thanks for looking that info up. Hubert Jr. is still around…hmmm…I think I’m going to write him a letter. 🙂

  4. I believe it is Wentzky too. When I was at North Fant Elementary School in 1964/65, there was a girl named Lynn Wentzky. She would be around 52 years old now. Who knows…Hubert could have been her dad.
