Tacky post

Filed under: Homes — lessie @ 4:52 pm

I have to admit this post is kinda tacky. But so interesting! I love looking at houses, how much they are selling for, what they are like inside, etc. I like it so much I’ve wondered if I should go into real estate. Ha! (Realtors’ hours are too unknown for me. I need the security and accountability of a set schedule, starting and leaving times. But enough about me.) This Georgian home (so nice of them to put that in the info sheet!) is quite stately and beautiful. (Not my personal dream home, but just lovely.) It faces a park area and is surrounded by other equally stately and magnificant homes. Still…the cost struck me dumb for a moment or two. Can you read it in the pic? (A larger pic is here.) Unbelievable. (Especially when I consider my home — less than 1/4th of this cost — is within walking distance.) Obviously I need an education about home prices! This certainly gave it to me. 🙂

  1. YIKES!! I couldn’t imaging paying that kind of money for a house on such a small lot. I’m a country girl and I pay for land, not house! I’m sure it’s beautiful though – too bad they wouldn’t let you in to take pics for us nosy folks. 😉 I also spend a lot of time looking at homes for sale, which scares my hubby ’cause we moved twice 3 years ago and he never wants to do that again!! I’m totally with you – I would be very interested in being a realtor, but my father was for years and I learned that the hours are erratic (not to mention all the driving around!) and there is a ton of paperwork. Not the career for me either….

  2. Wow! I can’t believe that price. This is another house from the neighborhood I grew up in. This house was just down the street, and my mother & grandmother often visited the lady who owned it.
I am forwarding the pictures to my sister who lives in upstate NY & is often homesick for SC.
    Thanks for the great shots!
