What Star is this?

Filed under: Cemeteries — lessie @ 5:04 pm

Does anyone know what star this is? Did the marker maker put it upside down? Hmmm….Here it is closer. From Silverbrook Cemetery.

  1. I was disappointed there were no comments answering your question. I’ll check back in a few days to see if anyone has come up with an answer … If you Google “upside down star” there are all sorts of wild claims … There is even on the GOP logo

  2. The upside-down star is the Eastern Star emblem. I believe Eastern Star is an organization affiliated with the Freemasons, but women — only those who are related to Masons — are allowed to join it.

  3. Denton — thanks for your Googling effort!

Katrina — you are so right! Thanks for solving the mystery! How cool is that! The star on the tombstone has the same internal graphic as the one on the Web page. It’s just hard to see b/c of age. Thanks again!
