Memorial Day

Filed under: Historic District, Markers, & Flags — lessie @ 3:11 pm

Today the U.S. observes Memorial Day, with flags held at half-mast until noon. I love the British Commonwealth tradition of the poppy to commemorate its war dead. I could find none to photograph, so I hope the flags at half-mast are a suitable tribute.

  1. Hi Lessie,

Your flags at half-mast seem very appropriate to me. Today is a day to memorialize the military dead, though we usually include those who’ve served and lived as well, don’t we.
