The Civic Center has two ponds — a larger pond in the Chris Taylor Park area, with benches, a pavillion, a children’s play area, geese, ducks, and three beaches. It’s really fun to walk around. The second pond is more of a retention pond, I guess. There’s no access for people, so no free bread, and the birds don’t usually hang out there. But lately…I’ve seen a mating pair of ducks and then these geese. I wonder if it’s the “honeymoon” pond for water fowl.
You’re probably right about the honeymoon thing. The trouble with those fowl is they do foul up the neighborhood. Especially Canadian Geese, beautiful creatures that they are.

I just keep staring at this. It’s like a Hopper painting the bold red and the sheen off the water. Love it, really striking image.
